Each year, the Foxboro Music Association awards music scholarships to enable middle and high school students to pursue music education beyond their in-school experience. Scholarships can be used for summer music camps (such as South Shore Conservatory Summer Music Festival), Foxboro summer music programs (Summer Instrumental Music Chorale, Jazz Improvisation), or for private music lessons.
The scholarships are awarded in three categories: lower junior (5th and 6th grade), upper junior (7th and 8th grade) and senior (9th through 11th grade). To be considered for a scholarship, students must audition for the music faculty and write an essay describing why they are applying and how the scholarship will benefit them as musicians. The essays are scored by a panel of volunteers from the FMA. Using the combined scores, scholarships are awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place, along with several honorable mentions, in all the divisions. Auditions will take place in-person at Foxboro High School on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 3:30 to 6:00 PM. See the 2024 FMA Audition Scholarship Letter for more details.
The application must be submitted by 9 PM ET on Friday, April 12, 2024 to be considered for a scholarship.
