FMA Audition Scholarships

Each year, the Foxboro Music Association awards music scholarships to enable middle and high school students to pursue music education beyond their in-school experience. Scholarships can be used for summer music camps (such as South Shore Conservatory Summer Music Festival), Foxboro Summer Music programs (Summer Instrumental Music ChoraleJazz Improvisation), or for private music lessons.

In 2025, the FMA awarded $4,925 to 28 middle and high school students.  Every student in the Junior Division (grades 5–8) who auditions will receive a $25 gift certificate which can be used for either of the Foxboro Summer Music programs.  With support and encouragement, your child could be a scholarship winner in 2026!

The scholarships are awarded in three categories: lower junior (5th and 6th grade), upper junior (7th and 8th grade) and senior (9th through 11th grade). To be considered for a scholarship, students must audition for the music faculty and write an essay describing why they are applying and how the scholarship will benefit them as musicians. The essays are scored by a panel of volunteers from the FMA. Using the combined scores, scholarships are awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place in all the divisions.

2026 Auditions will take place in-person on Thursday, April 30th from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at Foxboro High School
